Biography

Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a scientist who makes a difference, and that’s exactly what I intend to do!

My name is Dr Dean Miller and I specialise in travelling the world to research and film animals in the most remote, inhospitable and interesting corners of our planet to excite, inspire and challenge people about our amazing natural world.

My journey started at a very young age with an absolute passion for animals and the ocean. Like most kids I was also fascinated with documentaries and dreamed of one day making my own. After eight years at University studying Marine Science I was ready to get out there and see it all.

In no time I bought a camera, taught myself the ropes and started shooting footage with the aim of sharing information which helps save the animals and habitats that I am so fortunate to experience. My work has taken me from the tropics to the poles, reefs to rainforest, ocean depths to mountaintops and everything in-between. I have walked with polar bears, dived with tiger sharks, lived with seals, come eye to eye with whales, marched with penguins and flown with eagles. There is no adventure too great or small when you’re trying to save the species of our planet!
